Sales
We may consider selling this filly to the perfect home or doing an extended lease on her. Her registered name is Gretchen of Zion, her pedigree is located in the NFHR data base. This very well bred filly is turning 4 over the summer. She has had a lot of saddle time for a youngster, mostly at the walk/trot, with non-circle canter work. She has spent the last month working cattle and is extremely talented. She will herd free or under saddle. She has had some logging/draft experience. Some experience hunting. Plenty of riding in traffic, roads, and has been on several larger outings. She trailers and gets along well with others. Very personable, once she has her person they can ground tie her for bathing, saddling, etc. Very handy! But not automatic with every person. She has had 90+ days of professional training and tons of trail hours.
She stands at 13.3h and is filling out. Her fault is her back muscles are a touch behind the rest of her, as a result she is sensitive to saddle fit and will not preform at all if tacked with a poor fitted saddle. A well fitted saddle, wool saddle, or Hungarian pad is required.
She happily gives pony rides and is has never thrown a buck or rear. However, she is a young horse and young horses require confident handlers. We do not recommend her for children or beginners. Our ideal home would be someone who is very experienced with Fjords and desires to preserve the integrity of the breed. Her new owner must also be familiar with young horses and their ability to take steps back in training and how humbling they can be. In addition, the new owner must understand that sometimes young horses need time off to mature, de-stress, and grow. Gretchen tunes right back up in a few minutes without a buck or rear if her let her sit a few weeks. We want the new owner to understand that undo stress and riding at this age can damage any horse. Would be a good broodmare as well in a year or two.
Her rare color, good pedigree, good training and experience, and age make her highly sough after. We sell all horses with a No Crossbreed Policy. With her sale, goes some supplies and grain. All horses sold with Neg. Coggins, UTD vaccines, and Health Cert. Vet Check welcome at buyer's expense. More pics and videos to come
